INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCES
Morgan Grimmitt
University of Alabama, Fall Intern
"My internship experience at Karen Kane was nothing short of fantastic! I got great hands on experience working in the corporate fashion world in New York City. I assisted account executives with many projects in excel, which included weekly selling reports, end of the month group selling, and many more. I was also given the chance to sit in on market appointments to learn how the buying process between the account executives and the buyers works. Also during the internship, I was given the opportunity to learn what the retail merchandisers do on a daily basis. I would assist in merchandising the stores as well as assisting customers. I would highly recommend this internship program to anyone who is interested in a career in fashion. Everyone at Karen Kane was eager to teach me skills that were valuable to my fashion career, and everyone had something new and different to teach! This was overall a wonderful semester, and I urge anyone who is interested in learning more about the corporate fashion industry to apply!"

"Interning at Karen Kane was an amazing opportunity! The program allowed me to grow and strengthen my skills, as well as learn many new ones by sharing my ideas and receiving constructive feedback. I was able to experience different areas of the design process and work directly with Karen, which is really unique compared to other internship programs. Overall, I am truly grateful for all the things that I learned throughout my time in the program. Currently, I'm studying product development and manufacturing at FIDM, while also working as a design assistant at Karen Kane!"
Nevi Shah
Georgia Institute of Technology, Summer Intern
"As an intern at Karen Kane, I was given the opportunity to learn the corporate side of fashion right in the heart of New York! This program introduced me to the extensive process of sales analytics after each season as well as in-store merchandising during the season. I was even able to experience “Market Week” where buyers from Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Lord and Taylor and more came to our office to purchase our new lines each season which was absolutely incredible. I had the pleasure of working under VP, Tiffany Bowe, and really enjoyed the creative, upbeat and trendy office dynamic I was surrounded by everyday.
I am currently pursuing a degree in technology and management and am so happy to say that I am planning to work in the corporate fashion industry when I graduate after interning for Karen Kane this summer. I am so thankful to have had this amazing opportunity and would definitely encourage other fashion-lovers like me to apply here for an unforgettable experience."
