Widely recognised as the gold standard for responsible business, B corps are committed to practising the highest social and environmental standards. Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances purpose and profit. Companies can earn their B Corp certification when they achieve a higher standard of social and environmental performance. B Corps are committed to using business as a force for good in the world.
To become certified, Karen Kane had to complete the B Impact Assessment, which is a rigorous assessment of our governance, employment, community, and environmental practices—including things like how much we spend on local products, how many employees have health insurance, and what we do to reduce our environmental footprint. It audited every aspect of our business practices - including our impact on workers, suppliers, the community, and the environment. Upon being certified, Karen Kane joined other business leaders in signing the B Corp Declaration of Interdependence.
It was our commitment to our community, the way we treat our employees, and philanthropic endeavors that earned us B Corp status. This certification matters because it signals our serious commitment to transparency and accountability.
