"The Karen Kane internship experience is excellent for gaining very real industry experience. I especially enjoyed getting the opportunity to drape and draft patterns along with the design team. The chance to see a collection move from fabric/trim sourcing and sketch to a tangible sample brought to life the design process right in front of me over the course of my time at Karen Kane. Karen is a great mentor and I thank her for the time spent in aiding to my future.
Since LA, I have returned home to Tuscaloosa, AL and showed my 2012 fall/winter collection as a design contestant in Mobile Fashion Week. As the winning designer, my spring/summer 2012 collection was picked up by Private Gallery (shopprivategallery.com) and is due to hit stores in April/May. Now I have a chance to put all my industry knowledge to the test and reap the rewards of an internship with Karen Kane"

"Interning at Karen Kane was an amazing opportunity! The program allowed me to grow and strengthen my skills, as well as learn many new ones by sharing my ideas and receiving constructive feedback. I was able to experience different areas of the design process and work directly with Karen, which is really unique compared to other internship programs. Overall, I am truly grateful for all the things that I learned throughout my time in the program. Currently, I'm studying product development and manufacturing at FIDM, while also working as a design assistant at Karen Kane!"

"Interning at Karen Kane was a pleasure! It was very well run, used the latest technology, and the staff was more than friendly! I experienced how a garment company should be run through interning at Karen Kane. Thanks to the Karen Kane scholarship, I was able to participate in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Debut 2012 where I'm able to create my own collection to present at a fully produced fashion show!"
